Bienvenue!
This
site has been developed for my
professional friends who have asked,
"What is it going to take for my
business to get a website?".
I am amazed at how many businesses
out there who still do not have a
website or use professional email
(instead of Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL,
etc). The issue is time and money. Or
the lack thereof. Website
costs run from zero dollars , to several
thousand dollars, not including your
labor. There is the fear of
the unknown - what I refer to as the intimidation factor. No
time to learn all that is needed do
a good job. Today, with
some domain and hosting companies, when you purchase a
domain name you can get a free
web-builder. Putting up a
starter site has been made easy.
For most businesses or
organizations, a starter site is not
enough. They need the next
level which is free-hand using
website software and a blank slate
(such as this website).
If you sell merchandise and require
a 'cart' program it also means
you'll have to figure out the
process of integrating your credit
card software. These types of
websites also require much updating
of product inventory and pricing.
For the most part, I usually address
those who need a website along with
professional email to be advertised
with search engine marketing (SEM)
and listing the domain on business
cards and all other advertising.
Keep your website focused on your
market. Unless you are
marketing to 13 year olds, you
may want to keep the your site less-busy
so that your customers can focus on
who you are, what you do, where you
do it, and how they can reach you.
The key is to get started, then
build upon it. Before long you will
find just what YOU like. Now
hopefully what you like is also what
your customers like!
Remember that there are VOLUMES of
books written on this subject.
It's not possible for me to get into
finite detail here. I've given
you an overview on the process and
you can always contact me with
questions.
